What this is

Made the Cut is a ranking tool. You build ranked lists of games, films, and TV — your rankings live in your browser by default (localStorage), and stay that way unless you choose to sign in or create an account.

Signing in and cloud saving

Signing in links your lists to an email (via a one-time code or link — no password) or a Steam account. New email addresses create an account automatically. Once signed in, your lists sync to our server so you can get them back on another device.

Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Made the Cut. You are responsible for access to your email or linked Steam account and for activity performed through your account.

Your content

You own what you make here. Ranked lists, hot takes, notes, and anything you type or upload (like custom covers) are yours. We store them to run the product (syncing, sharing, public pages if you publish one) — we don't sell them, and we don't claim ownership of them. Only upload images you have the right to use; if something here infringes your rights, use the report contact below and we'll take it down.

Public content

If you publish a list publicly, other people can see it. Don't publish anything you don't have the right to share, and don't publish anything illegal, harassing, orinfringing. See our report a problem section if you spot something that shouldn't be there.

Using the service

Don't interfere with the service, probe or bypass its access controls, scrape it in a way that disrupts other people, impersonate another person, or use it for fraud or abuse.

Third-party data

Game and film/TV metadata (titles, cover art, release info) comes from third-party catalog providers — see the attribution in the footer of every page. We don't control that data and aren't responsible for its accuracy.

Purchases

Paid downloads and subscriptions show their price and billing cadence before checkout. Payments are processed by our checkout provider. If a purchased file is not delivered or a charge looks wrong, contact us at the address below so we can investigate and make it right.

Ending your use

You may stop using the service at any time and delete your account from its account page. We may suspend or end access when an account seriously or repeatedly violates these terms, or when we must do so to protect the service or comply with law.

No warranty

This is provided as-is. We try to keep it working and your data safe, but we can't guarantee uptime or that nothing will ever go wrong.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
